      Issue description

I'm disappointed that a solution I previously provided (see https://issues.redhat.com/browse/PTL-14056) has not been implemented, resulting in continued issues with several lab start commands - impacting my class this week, as well as rhn-gls-rtaniguchi's classes over the past two weeks (determined by searching for issues in the vt-support channel). I suspect that similar reports exist across multiple support forums (RHLS, ILT, VT), where students have been affected.

I originally opened issue for DO316v4.14, which was closed on 2024-09-06 with feedback that an updated lab package would resolve the issue. However, on 2024-12-19, I commented on the closed issue to report that the problem remains unresolved, yet I have not received any response. Beyond disappointment, I feel “discarded”.

On the same day, I raised the matter again with various curriculum developers and reiterated the solution (see attached screenshot).

I have successfully implemented my fix in my own classes, but applying it at scale remains challenging, particularly with more complex playbooks. For now, the only viable workaround is to reset the utility virtual machine, which is far from ideal.

      I kindly ask that:

      • My reports and comments are acknowledged rather than dismissed.
      • The proposed fix is implemented within the Ansible playbooks. (I'm happy to assist with an AWK or Perl-based solution if needed.)
