      Issue description

      When running the lab start compreview-cr1 command, the lab script fails during the "Preparing the exercise" phase. The errors include:

      • Non-zero return code when checking Git global settings for user.name and user.email.
      • Failure to connect to GitLab due to a 401: invalid_token error when attempting to remove a project.
