Think about the future of search - 1) not only how "Search" works, but 2) how we use the data from search to generate an experience for all of ACM and the combined console in the future.

This issue is titled "not search" because we don't want "Search" (the actual search page in ACM) to be the focus. It should be focused on the whole experience of how users find and explore things and get insights to resources they already own.

      There's two experiences to it:
      1. The "Open search" experience on the masthead (past vision work])
      2. Overview page with a search experience incorporated to have an "Amazon-like" experience

Both of these experiences would eventually help the users connect the dots with changes happening to the system and resources they care about with events/logs/cost/etc.

      To do

      • Generate bluesky ideas around what the future of search is in the hybrid cloud console
      • Audit of current implementation
      • Research: Discover what people want from what they use search for (or if they never search)
        • 5-10 users - empathy workshop?
      • Idea: Get search implemented for telemetry
        • improve navigation
        • what kinds of things they look for
        • what they look for most often
        • What we want for the future

      Ideas

      • Consider a way to deliver it such that we can turn it on from a UI switch (or perspective) that allows you to have the existing stale experience or turn on “fleek” mode and you get this new search centric POV
      • bring in the gamification/ badging concepts
      • bring in the live updates for blogs and Twitch streams
      • provide natural language search inputs
      • and search outputs that combine various data points that can build graphs/charts to help triangulate things like:
        • what changed with my app last week?
        • How much am I spending on my Azure apps?
        • Which clusters are running a heavy load and have critical alerts?
      • Show a mix of topology, recent events, tables, graphs, geomap location
      • Mix kubernetes data with cluster health metrics data and insights CCX data
      • Stretch the concept away from pillar definitions and be able to move along search like one may wander through YouTube related videos or TikTok - where you find and uncover other amazing unexpected things
      • An immersive navigation experience for all the relevant relationships that exist in the fleet
      • natural language processing
      • event correlation (Eg. search for east coast clusters, correlate events that relate to that search)
      • leveraging other data sources like cost management, etc
