In OSSM 3.0 build we made changes in the Operator to ignore the imageDigests and use the default ztunnel image specified in the helm charts (i.e., upstream image) as we did not ship a downstream image of ztunnel. Now that we are building and ztunnel image downstream, we will have to update the Operator to support the imageOverrides as required.
