    Description

Implement the integration with Cluster Monitoring that jewertow@redhat.com demo'ed at the Team Sync.

      Acceptance Criteria:

      • When running on OCP with the new operator installed, configure an integration with Cluster Monitoring
      • All service mesh control plane and workload metrics are visible in the CM prometheus instance and the OpenShift monitoring dashboards.
      • Document the setup in a readme in the operator's Github similar to MVP1 instructions (with someone else's validation the setup)
        • Link to applicable OpenShift and upstream Istio documentation where useful.

Open Questions (to be discussed once Acceptance Criteria is complete):

      • Should a flag/boolean be added to the operator to automatically enable the configuration if desired?
        • Be sure to consider the next bullet point, as well as the need for users to customize configuration and the need to maintain this over time (like by us).
      • Consider the need to integrate with a different Prometheus (community operator) or 3rd party monitoring solution that supports Prometheus (e.g. DataDog). If not part of this story, it will be in a future one.
