Having to include and support an extra database for CloudKitty (like InfluxDB) woud take a very taxing long term requirement on the team, making them having to do DB administration with the potential with a lot of support issues.

CloudKitty can use the MariaDB OpenStack database via the sqlalchemy Python library. Previous (light) efforts on trying to use it lead to CloudKitty not working or working very slowly, but it is worthwile to put some more effort trying to get it working correctly.

That would create DB sinergies with the existing current DB admin team.
