Description of problem:
Limited number of customers have vanilla multipathd running on overcloud nodes. They reported problems with FFU upgrade procedure: after node is rebooted, "RHEL-Upgrade-Initramfs" boot menu entry doesn't work as expected and simply hangs without actually booting OS.
This may be related to the following known problems:
https://access.redhat.com/solutions/6962799
https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-3290
https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-3289
Workaround was to stop the boot and edit initramfs (by adding nompath to list of kernel args) and then let it boot in 9.2. After leapp actions are completed, cleanup is needed for modified menuentry in /boot/loader/entries/ folder
While workaround worked fine on a separate node, it is not applicable in huge deployments. So we need to figure out a better workaround or permanent solution
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): RHOSP 17.1 leapp
How reproducible: see description
Actual results: leapp fails to boot a node with multipath with pre-existing kernel arguments
Expected results: leapp is able to boot a node with pre-existing kernel arguments or simple workaround exist that is applicable in deployments with many nodes
