      Description of problem:

      • What is the nature and description of the request?
Currently, it's not possible to perform in-place upgrade from RHEL 7 to RHEL 8 for systems that boot from multipath devices over SAN
      • Why does the customer need this?
The customer is using HPE superdome servers that boot from SAN over a fiber switch for multipath
      • For each functional requirement listed, specify how Red Hat and the customer can test to confirm the requirement is successfully implemented?
The customer is currently using RHEL 7.6 and the plan is to move first to RHEL 7.9 and later migrate to RHEL 8.x via Leapp.
      • Is there already an existing RFE upstream or in Red Hat Bugzilla?
        No
      • Does the customer have any specific timeline dependencies and which release would they like to target (i.e. RHEL8, RHEL9)?
The customer would like to be able to complete the in-place migration by the end of 2022.
      • Is the sales team involved in this request and do they have any additional input?
Yes, currently there is no significant impact, but may become a concern at a later time
      • List any affected packages or components?
        Leapp
      • Would the customer be able to assist in testing this functionality if implemented?
Yes, the customer would be happy to assist in testing.
