    • OCPSTRAT-131 - IPv6 Dual Stack OCP Support for on VMWare/vSphere IPI

The current keepalived configuration relies on IP addresses of the nodes as reported by kubelet. As one workaround path (pursued in OPNET-197) makes kubelet report only IPv4 address for a dual-stack vsphere, we need a way of fixing keepalived.

Currently (i.e. with no changes to configuration) the behaviour would be that IPv4 VIP is using unicast whereas IPv6 VIP multicast. In order to fix that and have unicast for v6, we need to find a way of getting Node's IPv6 addresses (the ones that kubelet is not reporting).

There are ways to do it, one path e.g. is using annotations created by OVN as those contain all IPs of the node and are not affected by what kubelet reports.
