Outcome Overview
Supporting dual-stack networking for OpenShift on every cloud platform will address the US Federal regulations regarding ZTA (Zero Trust Architecture) and their transition to IPv6.
Success Criteria
When deploying OpenShift on any cloud provider, users can configure the cluster at deployment time to support dual-stack networking so they can meet the IPv6 regulations for The Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) in the US.
Overview of Federal IPv6 Task Force
Expected Results (what, how, when)
By the end of 2025, all cloud platforms that currently support IPv6 networking should have dual-stack support for OpenShift. This ensures that customers requiring FedRAMP compliance are not restricted from using OpenShift.
Post Completion Review - Actual Results
Dual-stack testing must be integrated into the testing matrix for every new platform we support, ensuring OpenShift complies with this regulatory mandate in future releases
