      Feature Overview (aka. Goal Summary)

Add support for OpenShift to be deployed on AWS using EC2 Dedicated Hosts

      Goals (aka. expected user outcomes)

AWS users to be able to deploy OpenShift on AWS using EC2 Dedicated Hosts to support existing software licenses and improve compliance

      Requirements (aka. Acceptance Criteria):

OpenShift can be deployed on AWS using EC2 Dedicated Hosts for the OpenShift Compute Nodes

Anyone reviewing this Feature needs to know which deployment configurations that the Feature will apply to (or not) once it's been completed.  Describe specific needs (or indicate N/A) for each of the following deployment scenarios. For specific configurations that are out-of-scope for a given release, ensure you provide the OCPSTRAT (for the future to be supported configuration) as well.

Deployment considerations List applicable specific needs (N/A = not applicable)
      Self-managed, managed, or both both
      Classic (standalone cluster)
      Hosted control planes
Multi node, Compact (three node), or Single node (SNO), or all Multi node
      Connected / Restricted Network
      Architectures, e.g. x86_x64, ARM (aarch64), IBM Power (ppc64le), and IBM Z (s390x)
      Operator compatibility
      Backport needed (list applicable versions)
UI need (e.g. OpenShift Console, dynamic plugin, OCM)
      Other (please specify)

      Questions to Answer (Optional):

This feature will only apply to OpenShift's Compute Nodes but we will need to evaluate if it makes sense to expand this support to the Control Plane Nodes as well. One possible scenario where this would be required is for Compact Clusters deployments. While this requests is coming from ROSA we should take into account scenarios that could affect self-manage customers as well.

      Background

This is a request coming from ROSA where customers are asking for this capability to be able to use their third-party software license for some workloads running on OpenShift

      Documentation Considerations

Usual documentation will be required to instruct the user on how to use this feature at installation time

      Interoperability Considerations

There will be potential work required from the OCPCLOUD and HIVE teams
