      Description

Customers have reserved a fixed number compute capacity (Capacity Reservations) for specific instance type in specific Availability Zone in order to ensure they have access to the desired infrastructure when they need it.  Capacity Blocks are desirable to support short duration machine learning (ML) workloads.

When a machine pool is created, customers need to use the capacity reservation they’ve purchased or made so that they have guaranteed access to specific infrastructure when they need it.

There are two types of capacity reservations:

In ROSA HCP, we need the ability to utilize an existing capacity block purchases and capacity reservations during the following operations:

      • Creation of machine pools (for day2, not for day1 cluster creation)

      M2 DDR

      Acceptance criteria

Utilize existing Capacity Reservation ID for a new or existing ROSA HCP Machine Pools.

This epic is divided into two deliverables:

OCMUI-3832    Display Capacity Reservation ID with a Tool tip
OCMUI-3833    Support upgrades, autoscaling, and reservation preferences
