As part of DITA transition, we no longer want to support text outside of links in additional resources. 

Therefore, the old way of linking extrenal links:

link:http://othersite.com/otherpath[example] (external link text)

is no longer desired.Everything should be inside the link text now:

link:http://othersite.com/otherpath[friendly reference text]
