Proposed title of this feature request
Ability to write general-purpose alerting rules that can span several namespaces for user-workload-monitoring
(e.g. alert whenever a pod is crashlooping or a deployment isn't up-to-date).
Example using: namespace=~"( aa-*|bb-*|cc-*|dd-* )
**
Why does the customer need this?
The concern is the need to deploy unique Prometheus Rule Sets for each namespace/project is untenable in the environment, and customers would end up with several hundred duplicate rules to manage.
