It is important to distinguish between logs/indices from different OCP servers when the logs are forwarded to the same store.
The log record envelope needs a cluster-id to identify the cluster of origin, in addition to existing origin metadata (namespace, pod, container, node etc.)
This allows logs to be searched within a cluster, or across multiple clusters, by using the cluster-id as part of the query expression.
The cluster ID must be part of the common data model for logging, and must be available regardless of the type of store or log forwarding destination (Elasticsearch, Loki, Kafka, syslog etc.)
