Design an integration test strategy for the ExternalDNS Operator

Objectives

• Investigate and identify a suitable integration test pipeline for the ExternalDNS Operator (most likely a custom Prow CI test).

• Determine the scope of changes that should trigger integration tests (e.g., bundle-only changes, any change in the operator repository, etc.).

• Clarify the role of snapshots in the integration testing process.

• Provide recommendations on how to implement and maintain the integration testing setup (e.g., bundle scorecard, existing e2e tests, or alternative approaches).

Outcome
A documented proposal or plan for integration testing, including key decision points and rationale, to guide follow-up implementation tasks.
