      This is a follow up to https://issues.redhat.com/browse/NE-1915 wherein we anticipated the need to have the ability for users to provide additional configuration to our the Istio Gateway configuration resource.

      The purpose of this spike is to further evaluate this need and decide what the API surface for this configuration would be, and design that API. We should avoid exposing anything Istio specific as much as possible to help keep that as an opaque implementation detail.
