Background
Open and Free Software should be inclusive to past, current, and future contributors. Words and phrases matter and have a direct impact in how people interact with a product/project/community as well as how they feel.
Assumptions
- Our companies public statement stands and being inclusive is very important to us
- If the word or phrase is problematic to someone, that's enough reason to replace the wording/phrases
Goals
- Replace problematic words and phrasing from documentation
- Replace problematic words and phrasing from code and repos
- Be as inclusive as possible
Non-Goals
- Shaming anyone who may have used the problematic words/phrases in the past without meaning negative intent
Deliverables
- An MCO that is as inclusive to past, current, and future contributors as possible
