      Background

Open and Free Software should be inclusive to past, current, and future contributors. Words and phrases matter and have a direct impact in how people interact with a product/project/community as well as how they feel.

      Assumptions

      • Our companies public statement stands and being inclusive is very important to us
      • If the word or phrase is problematic to someone, that's enough reason to replace the wording/phrases

      Goals

      • Replace problematic words and phrasing from documentation
      • Replace problematic words and phrasing from code and repos
      • Be as inclusive as possible

      Non-Goals

      • Shaming anyone who may have used the problematic words/phrases in the past without meaning negative intent

      Deliverables

      • An MCO that is as inclusive to past, current, and future contributors as possible
