      Story

Enable the logging console to view logs from ElasticSearch as well as Loki.

      Acceptance Criteria

      Must Have

      • Auto-connects to the default, on-cluster store.
        • Auto-detect Loki or Elastic using CL/CLF resources.
      • Re-connects if CL/CLF resources change to a different store.
      • Translates k8s label/field queries to ES queries and displays results.

      Nice to have:

      • User can type ES query strings directly when store is  ES,  LogQL when store is Loki

      Notes

      • LOG-555 describes a log exploration API that would do query translation.
      • This story is initially aimed at migration existing ES customers.
      • It may make sense to implement k8s/ES query translation directly in the console initially if the exploration API is not going to be available quickly.
