Checklist:

• Start state present, if no defined by the workflow?
• Shapes (Bounds, Icons, Backgrounds / borders, other styles) 
• Text (Font style, Indentation, Wrapping)
• Viewport (default scale/translation)
• Layout (space saving, grouping)
• Lines
  • Type of line: Poly, Curved, Ortho
  • Type of edge: Error, Conditions, Default, Compensation, etc
  • Colors, style (dotted)
  • Labels (eg: data conditions for switch state)

After UX propsal and checklist above discussed, here are the resulting actions for engineering:

• Background: grey, no grid
• Shapes stylings (shapes, icons, connectors, text wrapping not overlapping)
• Layout. Use preffered TOP-BOTTOM, main flow at LEFT, subflows expanded to RIGHT, no space saving
• Do not merge line paths (lines must not overlap)
• No need for icons in the connectors, are styles are already defining each type properly
• State style management: Hover & Selected
• Use some bg alpha for Start / End
• Text should not overlap icons (in states)
