Consitently the designer creates business processes that give validation errors. Using new Business Process, not legacy. The business process is simple, it has a start, a User Task, a Custom Workitem, and an end event. See attached. When project is compile by maven on console.

Business process runs regardless. If you can open it in the eclipse plugin editor and change something it seems to fix the errors.
