=================
For "17.2 About the Remoting Subsystem", I think that it can use most of the EJB guide's topic "6.4.4. Configure the Remoting Subsystem", but needs a little bit of work.
The existing topics in the config guide already cover the attributes (tables in appendix) and CLI commands for configuring the different items. So I would recommend just including the brief description of the item and then linking to the existing topic(s) for actually doing the configuration.
The worker thread pools section is actually deprecated. It looks like this was already raised in https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBEAP-3190, so that work could be done there. So that would warrant a new topic for configuring workers, and we could have a brief overview paragraph of it here and then link to that configuring section.
There is a new configuration item (endpoints) that should be added here as well. The config section is already done, but this could use a description section in this topic and then link to that config topic. Could capture this work in a separate JIRA if needed.
Suggested outline for 17.2 Configuring the Remoting Subsystem
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Overview
// Here I would add the intro sentence and subsystem XML snippet from https://access.qa.redhat.com/documentation/en/red-hat-jboss-enterprise-application-platform/version-7.0/configuration-guide/#remoting_subsystem_overview, then that topic could be marked obsolete.
// Also, the NOTE in the existing section I believe is out of date. The Remoting subsystem is actually accessible from the management console.
Endpoints
// New to EAP 7, add description and link to existing topic on configuring endpoints
Connectors
// Keep the paragraph overview, then link to the other sections on configuring connectors
Outbound Connections
// Keep the paragraph overview, then link to the other sections on configuring outbound connections
Configuration Outside the Remoting Subsystem
// This is not covered in the config guide at all. Maybe to be consistent with the rest of the items in this section, we could add this information in a new topic, with a brief description here, and then link to that topic? Maybe the new workers section would go here, since it's outside of the remoting subsystem now?
