Background:

We received an RFE requesting support for credential templates for Helm repos like Argo CD already has for git repos.

Anecdotally we have a lot of customers using Helm repos that may be interested in this feature. Our customer base also skews heavily to large customers who are more likely to have a lot of repos and would get value from centralising credentials in a template.

Given the differences between Helm and git repos, adding this feature isn't straightforward. This spike is to:

• investigate what would be involved in adding support for a Helm creds template
• determine whether it is possible
• estimate how much effort would be involved in adding this feature
