In some circumstances, the broker can shut down (or crash) leaving a very large journal on disk. The whole journal has to be read when the broker restarts, which can take a long time. In the current implementation, the critical analyzer can be triggered if the time take to read the whole journal exceeds the time it is prepared to wait. This prevents the broker from starting up.
