The current hand-written parser has served its purposes but it's reaching its limits as we see a constant inflow of issues relating to unsupported types of statements. As it turns out there actually is a complete (YACC) grammar for MySQL.

I'm not sure what the best way to implement this would be, I've maded quite good experiences with Parboiled.
