The shipment service has two potential flaws atm.:

• exceptions raised in the event handler seem to be swallowed, supposedly resulting in the incoming Kafka record to be acknowledged
• When initially started, it doesn't consume Kafka records produced before it was started, i.e. the auto offset strategy should be set to "begin" for this consumer
