It's very possible that the gen2 images might break users or community things. Let's give the community a chance to test and evaluate the images.
- Release the gen2 images publically.
- Possibly in the same directory, but with name gen2 added.
- Possibly in a directory next to them.
- Annouce that the images are there and ask for users and community to test them and give us feedback.
- Wait for feedback (3 weeks to a month, possibly more)
- Potentially tweak stuff after feedback.
