= Creating a new {prod-short} instance using the {platforms-name} web console

Currently, using the {platforms-name} web console, *OperatorHub*, to create a new {prod-short} instance results in the instance deployed by default in the `openshift-operators` namespace for Operators.

      .Workaround

. In *OperatorHub* in the {platforms-name} web console, install the {prod} Operator.
. Create a `__<custom_namespace>__` project, for example `devspaces`. See link:https://docs.openshift.com/container-platform/4.10/applications/projects/working-with-projects.html#creating-a-project-using-the-web-console_projects[Creating a project using the web console].
. With the new project selected in the drop-down menu, create a new {prod-short} instance.

    Description

If an admin doesn't pay attention (i.e. doesn't change the project in the OpenShift Console after subscibing to the Dev Spaces operator) Che operands are deployed in openshift-operators namespace. That namespace, as it's name suggests, is dedicated to operators and not to operands. We should not deploy postgres, registries, server, dashboard etc...there.

This issue is the downstream version of https://github.com/eclipse/che/issues/21399.

The default namespace for operands should be `openshift-devspaces`.
