Goal
Provide a firmware.serial for every VM created
User Stories
- As a cluster administrator, I want each of the VMs created in my cluster to have a universally unique domain.firmware.serial, so that I can track VM identity by reading /sys/devices/virtual/dmi/id/subsystem/id/product_serial from within the guest.
- As an admin, I prefer that this functionality is available everywhere. No need to provide a toggle.
Non-Requirements
- List of things not included in this epic, to alleviate any doubt raised during the grooming process.
Notes
- Implementation may resemble https://github.com/kubevirt/kubevirt/pull/14130
