Goal

Customers are looking for a way to modify VM names as some of them as names sometimes reflects things like the VM use case or OS version etc. that may change over time.
Since in K8S objects names are immutable, we would like to introduce a "Display name" that users can use for this purpose.
It's important to understand that the display name is only for display and K8S (OCP) cannot use it to perform any actions. All CLI / API commands must use the "real" VM name.

We have at least 2 RFEs for this.
When migrating a VM from VMware using MTV, MTV plans to save the original name (MTV-2076)

User Stories

• As the VM owner I would like to rename my VM since it moved from dev environment to test
• As a VM owner I would like to be able to use all common characters including space and capital letters

Non-Requirements

• List of things not included in this epic, to alleviate any doubt raised during the grooming process.

Notes

• For now we will not be checking to if the display name is unique within a namespace
