Goal
The original implementation of storage class migration depended on MTC (UI and management of operations) but we would like to manage this feature in its entirety within the kubevirt / OCP-Virt code base. This epic is about recreating a simplified, VM-only implementation of the feature that is independent of MTC.
User Stories
- As a cluster administrator, I want to provide storage class migration for VMs to my users without needing to install the MTC operator.
- As a CNV developer, I want to maintain the important storage class migration feature completely within OpenShift Virtualization and without dependencies on an external product such as MTC.
Non-Requirements
- This epic covers refactoring and migration of logic from MTC to OCP-Virt. UI for bulk migrations is covered by CNV-50821.
