Description of problem:
CNV on x86 should default VMs to use Virtio video type, not VGA. This has already been done for ARM based installations. Using VGA greatly limits the features available within VMs created on Openshift. One example is that with VGA set as the video type, the display resolution cannot be set for Windows VMs.
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
CNV 4.16
Additional info:
CNV should default to using Virtio for modern virtual machines (RHEL 7+, Windows 10+) and provide a toggle/feature to use VGA for older VMs where this may be an issue (such as RHEL 5/6). An example of why this should be resolved from a customer perspective: ~~~ Our solution currently needs to display rendering applications at specific coordinates on the screen (hence the specific resolution) on an already logged session (autologon feature). VNC allows a user to see/debug what is going on without tempering with the current session while RDP could be disrupting the user session and change the resolution hence disrupting the running rendering applications. ~~~
