Following on from WINDUP-2620 the following has been proposed to improve the user experience with regard to running the Web UI on a MAC and setting the ulimit appropraitely:
Looking at our earlier issue notes:
- we should think about which is the real minimum number we need to set
- add a note to docs about when to increase it
- test what happens when number is too low
- give a speaking error message
Do we have an answer to
#1 How many files does MTA need when analyzing large sets of apps/files, and will 5000 be enough? (we could have a small service on wildfly that periodically lists the number of open files, or maybe outside of the process an OS query of open files by the process in a loop).
--> should probably be a separate Jira for hosted version.
#2 If it could run over, we should add a hint in the docs so people know where to change it.
