Openshift scale-out
-
To Do
Alex the very busy application assessment owner wants to use the company's openshift instance to analyse hundreds of apps because his laptop has very limited resources and if he runs the analysis he can't do any other work in the mean time.
the OCP cluster has plenty of resources and his 'rhamt' project can use up to 256 GB RAM and let's say 80 cores. There's no option to have one big pod which uses all of the resources
Amongst those hundreds of apps are a couple of huge monoliths, each between 100 and 400 MB big and with multiple thousand packages each.
The apps have some shared libraries and dependencies.
Alex wants to analyse all the apps if they can be run on EAP7 on Openshift and has all the apps on a folder on a remote machine.
His manager wants to have an initial report in 2 hours.
