We have introduced in 4.1.0 Beta the option "originalVersionResolution" that has a wide scope. When set to true, any resolution that fails from the configured channel is attempted. The "from which feature-pack the artifact to resolve comes from is not taken into account". Thanks to WFGP-250, a feature-pack can advertise how it wants resolution to occur when channel is configured.

The fallback strategy must take this information into account prior to attempt a resolution. If the artifact is marked to be resolved from a channel and channel resolution failed, the provisioning must abort.

So the "originalVersionResolution"  is to be removed and replaced by this dynamic logic.
