While working on a case, when using Undertow implementation of mod_cluster, I am observing two ping requests being sent at the same time (from the load-balancer to the app server).

The difference appears to be solely one being a HTTP/2.0 and the other being HTTP/1.1.

That doesn't appear to be necessary, is this intentional?
