Weld claims in Tomcat server log:
"INFO: Tomcat 7+ detected, CDI injection will be available in Servlets and Filters. Injection into Listeners is not supported"

The documentation states " Listener injection should also work on Tomcat 7.0.50 and newer versions. "

and it indeed seems to work on Tomcat 7.0.52.
