Even if support for VSphere 5.5 has ended in 2018 already there are customers still running 5.5 environments and want to migrate to OpenShift Virt.

A recent customer with this demand is Nokia, and we have been asked to at least estimate on the risks/possibilities to make MTV migrate this path.

We already know that 5.5 does not support VDDK a technology that MTV relies on for faster transfer and any integration without VDDK will be 1-2x slower. There could be other issues that come up as it is not tested. We will add to the backlog but need to know prioritiy to do it through MTV vs. a workaround by updating the VMWare environment first to a supported version.
