      Feature Overview

OpenShift Virtualization has memory compression enabled by default in order to make more efficient use of memory (achieve higher workload density).

      Goals

Allow the use of compressed memory as provided by RHCOS (COS-2231) to be used with OpenShift Virtualization.

      • Who benefits from this feature, and how? cluter administrators
      • What is the difference between today's current state and a world with this feature? Today memory compression is not used. With this feature it is used by default

      Requirements

      Requirement Notes isMvp?
ocp allows to be run with swap on     Yes
zram can be configured from cluster API    Yes
zram usage can be monitored    yes

      (Optional) Use Cases

How will the user interact with this feature?
Which users will use this and when will they use it?

      • Include use case diagrams, main success scenarios, alternative flow scenarios.  Initial completion during Refinement status.
