      Feature Overview

Reduce complexity of identify VM metadata and data objects, for easier ecosystem partner integrations.

      Goals

As new features continue to be added to kubevirt virtual machines, the graph of objects (DVs, PVCs, InstanceTypes, Preferences, Secrets, ConfigMaps, etc) continues to expand. Trying to identify all of the objects that a VM depends on (ie for Backup and DR) can be daunting and error prone. We should make this process easier for our users and partners.

      • All data protection partners who backup and restore VMs on OpenShift
      • This will reduce complexity and remove the need for the partner to understand VM schema in great detail.
