Situation arose last week where I discovered we have a gap, feature gate promotion criteria are not limiting to JobTier standard/blocking/informing. As a result a feature in techpreview will not gain regression coverage. If it were promoted to default presumably we would see it in normal jobs, but perhaps not necessarily if it was fringe enough to require it's own configuration and special jobs, we would still have no idea.

The actual situation was for a feature covered with bgp jobs, that was techprev in 4.19 but going default in 4.20 and then to be backported. bgp jobs were marked excluded some time ago and there was no visibility for this.

Could we have the fg promotion pages filter on JobTier, without massively confusing people?

Sippy doesn't support the complex and/or mixed logic necessary to add job tier filtering.  Long term desire is to move Feature Gate analysis to CR.  We need TRT-1972 first before we can consider that but this story is currently to move that analysis to CR which will include the requirement that the signal be blocking (though it doesn't have to be blocking during development)
