Customer has requested the ability to disable route creation for admin, developer, and tenant portals by Zync as it conflicts with their automated ci/cd route creation and annotation process.
It causes us problems with the certificate management we do with cert-manager were we want to manage the route ourselves so we can provide annotations.
There are racing conditions with zync and our own mechanism that gives us problems.
Customer has advised that scripting wait conditions and other workarounds are not desirable.
Notes from engineering (Joan):
This was already done years ago: https://github.com/3scale/zync/pull/280
Route creation could be disabled by setting DISABLE_K8S_ROUTES_CREATION = 1
However, a small bug caused a regression and DISABLE_K8S_ROUTES_CREATION it's being ignored since then.
The issue has been resolved in https://github.com/3scale/zync/pull/536
