Current behaviour
When creating an application via the Application New form in the admin portal the field Service Plan does not have a default plan selected and requires the user to choose from the dropdown available. The current default value selected is blank (matching the current default Service Plan configured in the Product > Service Plans view)
Expected behaviour
When creating an application via the Application New form in the admin portal the field Service Plan always has a default plan selected when the currently configured default Service Plan in Product > Service Plans is blank.
The above observation is important especially for users migrating from a previous version of 3scale where no knowledge of Service Plans was ever required and during the application create action even if the configured default service plan for the selected product was blank then the form always set Default as the value in this field. The UI improvement introduced in the new Application Create forms has an unintended impact on existing users as a result of this change.
