3scale supports zero-downtime upgrades except when service downtime is unavoidable.  This information should be clearly stated in the release notes or the migration guide for each version.

Since it is not explicitly stated whether each upgrade will inevitably cause downtime, users should always anticipate downtime during upgrades.

Please document for each minor and patch release whether the upgrade path to it can be performed with zero-downtime.
