In Linux under a Gnome 3 environment, launch JBoss Developer Studio and attempt to edit a transformation diagram in the teiid designer. You will get a popup regarding no more handles. You can also force usage of GTK3 by adding this to the startup script

      export SWT_GTK3=1

Forcing usage of GTK2 before launching JBoss Developer Studio prevents the designer from crashing. Installing the gtk2 murrine engine also helps

      export SWT_GTK3=0

The fix is the same as mentioned in this related issue

When launching under a GTK3 or GT4 environment, the designer will crash when attempting to use the* Transformation Diagram* editor.

The stacktrace in the console is here

      A screenshot is also attached.
This issue is more severe in Fedora 27 and beyond as that release will not ship/backport GTK2 libraries anymore due to unpatched security issues. Using GTK2 is the current workaround
