Currently, Swatch meters for all usage of a SaaS product and submits the usage to the relevant marketplace. However, there are cases where customers pre-pay for a certain quantity of the metered product and we need to handle this in order to avoid double charging the customer.

The contract amount that is pre-paid will be available through a new API from RHIT. Swatch will need to meter the usage and keep track of it and only submit any overages (usage beyond the pre-paid quantity) for a particular meter (dimension) to the marketplace.

The details of the integration with RHIT will be fleshed out in the coming weeks. Also, the method of calculating overages is being discussed and will be finalized soon.
