      Task Description

      Deploy and configure a VMware Cloud Foundation 9.0 environment to support OpenShift testing and validation activities for the VCF 9.0 support feature.

      Background

      As noted in the epic, this feature requires a new vCenter environment to be deployed by the PGE Cloud Ops team, and SPLAT needs to enable this environment via the vSphere Capacity Manager.

      Acceptance Criteria

      Environment Deployment

      • [ ] VCF 9.0 environment deployed by PGE Cloud Ops team
      • [ ] Environment meets OpenShift minimum requirements
      • [ ] Network connectivity configured for CI/testing access
      • [ ] Storage backend configured and accessible
      • [ ] DNS and time synchronization configured

      vSphere Capacity Manager Integration

      • [ ] VCF 9.0 environment added to vSphere Capacity Manager
      • [ ] Resource pools configured for testing workloads
      • [ ] Lease management configured for CI jobs
      • [ ] Monitoring and alerting enabled for new environment
      • [ ] Capacity limits and quotas configured appropriately

      Access and Permissions

      • [ ] Service accounts created with appropriate permissions
      • [ ] SPLAT team access configured for testing
      • [ ] CI system access configured for automated testing
      • [ ] Security policies applied consistent with existing environments
      • [ ] Backup and disaster recovery procedures established

      Validation Testing

      • [ ] Basic OpenShift installation tested on new environment
      • [ ] Network connectivity validated from CI systems
      • [ ] Storage provisioning tested and validated
      • [ ] Resource allocation and scaling verified
      • [ ] Performance baseline established

      Dependencies

      • PGE Cloud Ops team for VCF 9.0 deployment
      • Infrastructure team for network connectivity
      • Security team for access control validation

      Definition of Done

      • VCF 9.0 environment fully operational
      • vSphere Capacity Manager integration complete
      • Environment ready for OpenShift testing and validation
      • Documentation updated with environment details
