User Story
As an OpenShift administrator, I want to perform cluster upgrades (both z-stream and y-stream) on VMware Cloud Foundation 9.0 so that I can keep my clusters current while maintaining platform stability.
Description
Validate that OpenShift cluster upgrades work correctly on VCF 9.0, ensuring customers can maintain their clusters through standard upgrade procedures.
Acceptance Criteria
Z-stream Upgrade Validation
- [ ] Z-stream upgrades complete successfully on VCF 9.0
- [ ] All cluster components upgrade without VCF-specific issues
- [ ] Node reboot cycles complete successfully during upgrades
- [ ] Storage and networking remain stable through z-stream upgrades
- [ ] Performance characteristics maintained post-upgrade
Y-stream Upgrade Validation
- [ ] Y-stream upgrades complete successfully on VCF 9.0
- [ ] Major version transitions work correctly
- [ ] All operators upgrade successfully on VCF 9.0
- [ ] Feature migrations work properly during y-stream upgrades
- [ ] Rollback procedures function if needed
Upgrade Process Testing
