      """

      Currently, if a delivery is routed to a site or a destination that cannot accommodate the delivery, it will be released and the originating producer must decide how to respond to the lack of delivery. There are multiple windows of opportunity for deliveries to be released when there are available destinations:

      • Delay in route updates causing routing to remote routers for which there is no longer a destination;
      • Forwarding to an adaptor connector for which there is no reachable backing server.

      If released anycast deliveries are locally re-forwarded, then delivery can be sent to the "next best" destination. This would significantly close the window of opportunity for a needlessly released delivery.
