OpenShift 5 is the first major release since we transformed significant swaths of our CI, pipeline, and testing systems for OpenShift 4. This transformation has been the work of years and has yet to be confronted with a major version bump. It will require changes to SHIP tooling for the mechanical gaps in producing a new major version as well as accommodating architectural changes in the product.
